What Is STAAR?
STAAR stands for State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness. STAAR tests are designed to show whether students have mastered specific knowledge of core subjects at various grade levels. While the purpose of the test is intended for good, it has definitely prevented a number of individuals from being able to graduate from high school. STAAR REDEMPTION
At Texas Alternative Home School, we firmly believe that public high schools in Texas should not have any students who drop out. Sometimes a traditional approach to education is just not the right solution for your needs. There may be extenuating circumstances that caused you to drop out of high school. Maybe it just comes down to the fact that you were unable to pass the requirements of STAAR testing no matter what you did. TEXAS ALTERNATIVE HOME SCHOOL
STAAR REDEMPTION / PROJECT GRADUATION PROGRAM: $600
Geared towards students who have at least 20 high school credits and are at least 17 years of age and were unable to graduate from public high school due to the STAAR. An appointment is scheduled for the analysis exam workshop and upon completion of the workshop, the students will be given the opportunity to earn enough credits to earn their Texas state law-compliant high school diploma and official transcript within the semester.
