At Texas Alternative Home School, we want to help you keep up your learning and academic progress so that you can finish your educational career on time. We know that right now it’s difficult to accomplish everything you need with social distancing and stay-at-home orders, which is why we’ve created an option for you to continue with in-person meetings with your instructors. Be sure to use our step-by-step instructions both for scheduling your meetings and using Zoom to connect with the people and materials you need.

Your Education Matters

When you signed up with Texas Alternative Home School, you probably had the drive and desire to do whatever it took to get your high school diploma. While COVID-19 has impacted much of our daily life and routines, it doesn’t have to stop your education.

We want you to know that we are actively working on creating the most robust virtual options to support you in your efforts to complete your work and earn your diploma. You’ve already signed up to get started, so be sure to check your mail for a packet containing your application, analysis exam, and the first month’s book. Normally, we’d meet with you in person and have you fill out the paperwork with us. Since that option isn’t available right now, we’ve created an easy way for you to submit your paperwork online.

Once you’ve received your packet, please fill out and upload the requested items in the form below. Tuition must be paid before you submit the following items in the form below. Please contact us with any questions you may have.

Scheduling Meetings

You’ll need to schedule regular meetings with your instructors to ensure that you get credit for your work, can ask questions about the material, and complete each piece of the program. Please click on the Calendly link below to select the days and times that work for you.

How to Sign Up for Zoom Video Conferencing

Go to zoom.us in your browser.
Click the Sign Up button in the top right corner.
You can sign up with a Google or Facebook account.
Once signed up, Zoom will send a confirmation link to your email
Find the link in your inbox and click Activate Account
finish creating account by entering your name and creating a secure password.
The next step is for Zoom for work. Since you are using this for school, simply click Skip This Step.
You are set up and ready to use Zoom when it’s time to meet with your instructor.

What if my computer doesn’t have a camera or microphone capabilities?

If your computer doesn’t have a camera or a microphone, you can still use Zoom. There is a call-in feature that allows you to use your phone to join the meeting, which means you’ll still be able to see and hear everything you need. When you click on Join the Meeting, be sure to dial the phone number listed for Call-In and then enter the meeting room number and the personal ID provided in the popup.
